Fajr Filmfest prize-winners to be shown at Charsou

Prize-winning movies at the 35 edition of Fajr International Film Festival are set to screen on Friday.

The special screening sessions will be held in the Iranian capital city of Tehran at Charsou Cineplex in conjunction with the closing day of this year’s Iran-based filmfest, a post published on FIFF official website said.

Iranian director Asghar Yousefinejad’s ‘The Home’ which swept several titles at the 2017 awards ceremony of Fajr will be screened late Wednesday.

Internal prize-winning films will also be shown at Charsou, including Bulgaria movie ‘Glory’ which grabbed two Silver Simorgh awards for actress Margita Gosheva and actor Stefan Denolyubov.

 ‘Wolf and Sheep’ which nabbed Best Asian Director award for Shahrbanoo Sadat is among films on the screening roster.

The awards ceremony for this year’s run was held on Thursday, 27 April, at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall. Among the Iranian officials in attendance include Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Reza Salehi Amiri, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and head of Iranian Cinema Organization Mohammad Mehdi Heydarian.
